for the convenience of the driver, but in spite of this the simplicity
of operation remains one of the highlights of the product.
The system incorporates state-of-the-art
components and electronic design. The remote controlled transmitters
incorporate the most secure encryption techniques available. No
code is transmitted twice, rendering code grabbers and scanners
ineffective - over a million billion possible code combinations! The main unit is one of the smallest
on the market making it easy to conceal. Even if a thief locates
the unit it is protected against attack by a rugged polycarbonate
security housing.
The compact siren, housed in the
engine compartment, is also a leader in technology. Conventional
sirens are connected by wires that make the system vulnerable.
Not the 160 RLi. The siren is intelligent (microprocessor controlled)
and communicates with the control module over a secure data line. Once the siren has been instructed
that the alarm is "on" - that's it. The wires can be
attacked in any fashion. The moment they are tampered with, the
siren takes control and starts sounding an ear piercing warning.
Back up batteries within the siren protect the vehicle even if
the vehicle's battery is removed. Don't try to physically attack
the siren - It's amde of high impact polycarbonate and will resist
attack even with a hammer!
